Arrived with a bad SD card. Took a few days to figure this out. Had to buy a new card and flash the latest image to the card. Once that got squared away, I updated the firmware and display version. Once you do this one time, it clicks and seems very simple. Great customer support from Rudd (developer). Loving it now. Seamless transitions between reflectors. Good speaker. I mounted a Bearcat speaker on my desk using the external speaker port. Plenty loud! Given a little time, the pi-star interface becomes simple to use and navigate. Can take this anywhere you have internet. My phone is a WiFi hotspot, so this opens up a lot of possibilities. Radio connects to my phone WiFi no problem. This is an HOA Residents dream. No antenna, no coax, no power supply. Just plug ???? into the wall. Three radios in one. Happy with this purchase.

The CAST is fantastic. The ability to simply choose a talkgroup, reflector, or room without having to re-program an RF radio is a huge benefit. Very easy to setup. Adding in a DV stick will also give you an ambeserver that works great from your PC or Andriod device with BlueDV. 73' KC8ZKI
